It is a momentous week in terms of corporate citizenship: Earth Day 2011 has arrived and the BP oil spill marks its one-year anniversary.

And yet, rather than just use this week as an opportunity to dwell on all of BP’s wrongs or to highlight all of your brand's positive corporate citizenship activities, both dates should be an opportunity for corporations to think about how their brands can permanently create a bright future for generations yet to come.
