Total Portfolio Value
From 2012 to 2013, the total value of the 25 brands remained steady, with a slight decrease of 1 percent. This was mainly a result of the rise of brands in the intermediate sector of the table and the arrival of new entrants, which caused the top five brands to fall in value.
Top Five Concentration
The top five brands still represent the major slice of the portfolio value, with 67 percent of total share. The trend of reduction in this concentration continues, reinforced with the decrease in value of four out of five brand leaders, besides the rise in value of brands in the middle and bottom of the table.
The Financial Services sector dominates the ranking, both in total number of brands (six) and in share of the brand value portfolio (51 percent). Apparel and Retail were the sectors with higher increases, with an average of 23 percent growth over 2012.
