Interbrand Rebrands the CoStar Group, the Leader in Commercial Real Estate Intelligence
NEW YORK, New York (22 May 2014) – Interbrand, the world’s leading brand consultancy, today revealed its new brand identity for CoStar Group, Inc.
Established in 1987, CoStar Group is the leading provider of commercial real estate information, analytics and online marketplaces. Having grown both organically and through acquisitions, the company appointed Interbrand to develop a brand strategy and visual identity system that would reinforce the company’s leadership position in the commercial real estate market.
Working closely with the leaders of CoStar Group, Interbrand refreshed the brand’s positioning, streamlining their portfolio of brands, and developed a new visual identity system.

The new logo is rooted in the idea of finding. As many of CoStar Group’s clients spend their time searching for not only information, but expertise and insight – value is truly derived from what they find and discover as a result of the company’s products and services. The new logo is comprised of five individual markers, inspired by pins on a map. The five markers come together to form the shape of a star, signifying the power of the community – CoStar Group’s highly valuable network of people, information, and insights that help to drive progress in the industry. The star in the logo is tilted forward to signify this progress and momentum.
Additionally, Interbrand reimagined and redesigned CoStar Group’s main product websites in the U.S. and U.K., CoStar.com and CoStar.co.uk. It also created a new website for the parent company CoStarGroup.com, and built a new Intranet for CoStar to carry the new brand through to its employees.

The new brand identity will be implemented and rolled-out across numerous touch points, from business cards and building signage, to customized car wraps and social media.
