Natuur & Milieu
We developed a new visual identity for the non-profit organization Natuur & Milieu in The Netherlands.
The refreshed visual identity illustrates Natuur & Milieu’s role as an independent organization that works with various parties to develop innovative sustainable energy, mobility and food solutions. We built the identity around a differentiating logo: the Ampersand Stamp.
The Ampersand Stamp reflects the structure of the organization and its actions. The three equal curves join the markets and stakeholders together (business, government and people) and the open circle surrounding the stamp allows others into its world.
The typography was inspired by the Amsterdam School, which is prevalent in cities around the Netherlands, where the organization is based. The color palette reflects the ever-changing personality of nature, communicating the brand’s ability to adapt, depending on the context.
Additionally, the graphic at the top of stationary, newsletter and other corporate materials is meant to mimic the fold of a page, evoking the rich story that lies within a book’s pages. This reflects Natuur & Milieu’s role as the face behind groundbreaking projects.
