David Bachmann

Global Chief Operating & Financial Officer

David Bachmann joins Interbrand as Global Chief Operating & Financial Officer, bringing substantial experience gained over two decades working with various agencies across the marketing services spectrum.

He began his career as an auditor and CPA with Spicer & Oppenheim in New York. In 1992, Dave accepted the role of CFO at one of his clients, Ryan Partnership, a privately held agency out of Westport, Connecticut, specializing in sales promotion, events planning and direct marketing. While at Ryan Partnership, Dave was instrumental in helping to lead the agency through an explosive period of growth, as it expanded from its headquarters’ office in Westport to open offices across the US in Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Bentonville as well as Toronto.

In 2003, Dave joined WPP‘s PR agency – Hill & Knowlton – as its US CFO, where he worked with the new management team to streamline agency operations and improve the agency’s financial performance.

In 2005 Dave joined McCann Health as its Global CFO, overseeing its network of agencies operating in 25 offices throughout North America, Europe, Asia & Brazil. Partnering with the CEO of McCann Health, Dave set about reorganizing the global operating structure, including a complete remake of the global management structure, divesting underperforming agencies and/or offices and further rightsizing/optimising agency structure by prioritizing investment in areas which allowed for a more sustainable growth trajectory and enhanced margin improvement.

Dave, his wife Caren, and their two children reside in Westfield, NJ. He enjoys exercising, reading and is an avid golfer. He has interests in politics and history and is a NY Giants fan.

Biggest professional achievement

For me this is a case of the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. Rather that a single biggest achievement, what I am most proud of is starting as a CFO for a small private agency and rising to the level of being the global COO / CFO of an agency network at two of the major holding companies.
